Pepper MaShay (real name Jean McClain) is a Urban contemporary/Soul music and House music singer who has had success as a touring and studio performer. As lead vocalist MaShay has released several tracks that have performed well on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart, including "Happiness" (1997), "Step Into My Life" (1998), "Sextacy" (2000) and "Send Me an Angel" (2005). Her voice is probably best known from the "Let's get soaking wet!" chanting throughout the Barry Harris track "Dive in the Pool", made famous by its inclusion in the American television series Queer as Folk. Another collaboration with Harris, "I Got My Pride", hit number two on the U.S. dance chart in 2001. In '08, Pepper
released her latest new single"Does Your Mamma Know" on her own label
"Freckle Bandit Records". "I wanted to be on my own this time around" says
Pepper". The song tells the story abt, "Celebrity Culture" and how it affects
everyone involved. "Does Your Mamma Know" won "The USA Songwriting
Competition in the Dance/Electronic category for '08.

MaShay has an extensive resumé of work as a background singer, performing on songs by Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Bobby Caldwell, Cher, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Jennifer Holliday, Taylor Dayne, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Ray Charles, Sheena Easton, Steve Perry and many others. When she finally releases her debut solo album it should perform well on the Top Electronic Albums chart.

In late 2006, Pepper MaShay earned her first solo chart-topper on the U.S. dance chart with the song "Lost Yo Mind". It has attained moderate to heavy rotation on Electronic/Dance format radio stations.
